What we are doing in your community

Creating local jobs and businesses

We prioritise hiring from our host and labour-sending communities. Many entry-level and community-access jobs are reserved specifically for people living in our neighbouring communities.

We have also launched the Impala Peo Enterprise Fund, a R50 million fund that provides affordable loans to small businesses in the areas surrounding our Impala Rustenburg operations, helping community suppliers grow and become part of our long-term value chain.

Supporting community wellbeing

We work with local groups to help families stay healthy, safe and supported. We host community health screenings, vaccination drives and mental health and financial wellbeing workshops. Each year we reach thousands of people through our wellness activities, we assist farmers with training and support and conduct programmes aimed at reducing gender-based violence.

Improving education and skills

Quality education and skills open doors. We want young people and community members to have those opportunities.

Building community infrastructure

We help build and improve facilities that benefit everyone. In 2025, we completed 17 community projects, which included schools and early childhood centres, clinics and health facilities, roads, bridges, water connections and sanitation improvements.

Working with community trusts

Many of our operations work together with community share ownership trusts. These trusts help support long-term local development, ensuring that communities benefit directly from mining activities.
